Was reading about your love of the “seven son tree” and will seek out a place to find one. Am very interesetd in finding out what your four other favorite trees are. I have three more holes to fill and would love some advice for the family located in zone 5 (south east Michigan). Thanks again for the help and most certainly the thoughts on the seven son tree.

Hi Rick: It’s been awhile. Life is hectic these days.

Saw your reference to Kunstler. If you’re going to read about collapse, a much more pleasant source is Dmitry Orlov, who filters everything through the collapse of the former Soviet Union and frankly puts a much more pleasant spin on calamity. Check out his blog sometime. He’s got an excerpt from his forethcoming book on food (gardening plays a big role) on or near the top.

I love the show so much…..Mike is the dream contractor of America…..Why is it that so many contractors can get a contract to do your home and just leave it in shambles with no guilty feelings or remorse. We live in Texas and bought our house 5 years ago and didn’t realize the electrical problems and structral problems we really have. Even the City permit guys came over and told us we have several problems in the house that we can’t afford to fix.
I truely wish we could get Mike or one of the fix it up shows to come in and help us fix our house. If you really want to know the whole story on my family please use our e-mail address and we will explain everything to you guys…..I realize you have tons of people writing to you everyday but I really hope i can get some help here. Our house has been broke into 2 times since we have been here and nobody can seem to find out who is doing it.

we just need help doing the right fix up’s and tring to keep the people from breaking in again. PLEASE HELP US.

Thanks Rick for mentioning me and my blog! I consider yours one of the best on the net for our industry and indeed I will be posting progress reports on the projects we do.

Our landscaping season ( Zone 5) is just beginning and it promises to be a great season for us. The show was a great start but very tiring. All-in-all, a very good experience.
