Say you wanted to do something a little different, a little clever, a little off the wall? I mean why not, you are a professional Landscape Designer? Aren’t you?
Well at least some of you are. Professional(s) . . . that is.
So here’s a website that is so simple and easy to use it’s almost ridiculous, [...]

Daydreamin’ today about the good ole days of Summer.

[Just how big did those "Ears" get?]
Anybody else ready to look at some green? Plus they all are coming from the South so these events are 1/3 rain, 1/3 sleet, and 1/3 ice, and 1/3 snow . . . I know, I know . . . [...]

Back in March of last year I wrote a long post about Carl Linnaeus, Horologium flore, and the Flower Clock. I wrote something to the effect of how cool and idea it was and that I was not that thrilled with the idea of pulling this off on a practical basis.

A while back I posted a few pictures of farmers in Japan who created art in rice fields. Pretty low-tech stuff, but very beautiful. Now I come across this unusual form of land art.
Completely different in style and really different in how the art is made-really completely different.

Knowing that, I am curious about a few things, and have some questions.

How has it [...]

[Rendering shows 4-5 different types of grasses for Apt. Building]
This is a drawing to be shown during the concept(s) meeting to give the client an idea of what could happen if they choose to go with this style(presented in drawing) . . . renderings like this are(in my mind) to suggest possibilities . . . [...]

Came across this interesting piece of video over at Ellis Hollow. This video by the Vienna vegetable Orchestra has absolutely nothing to do with Landscape Design. I mean nothing ties it together except; maybe, a little horticulture.
For the recored . . . I will never look at carrots the same way again.

Okay, here is the list to this date. I only took nominees from the comments, I did not take any from e-mail. I figure if you are going to bash a shrub-bash it in public. There are 10 shrubs listed some by botanical, some by common, and a couple listed by-the whole entire species e.g. [...]

For the cool price of $250,000 you can have this little beauty built for you in your own backyard. though for that much money you may want to put it in your front yard. Heck . . . it may be the house in the yard.
The photo comes from a story in Business Week, [...]

It appears by lack of response that unlikable trees are more interesting to discuss. So Based on the few entries, I would guess it is time to move on.
In the next week or so we will move on to trees and shrubs we do like to have, and use in the landscape. We Designers sometime [...]

Shrubs we do Not Like:
I have written about a few of these culprits in the past week or so, my offenders include:

A brief interlude from bad , bad, terrible shrubs, to something of greatness, and a beauty that I am incapable of describing:
