Computer Issues

I’ve been having some real problems with one of my computers the last few days. Man am I ever thankful most of the stuff I’ve needed to post to the blog I can get to online.

These darn computers can get real frustrating for us old guys who grew up in an era when “I” was the TV channel changer, and we had to dial up phone numbers, and when we talked about nuking something it meant diving under a desk, putting your head between your knees and kissing your ass goodbye.

I also noticed the number of hits as now gone well past 500,000 since I have moved to WordPress, add in the 400,000 or so from my Blogger days and that’s a lot of eyeballs that have stopped by here . . . I’d like to thank allof you who take the time to stop by, and drop comments, especially to my e-mail crowd. A fun bunch indeed.

Old-timers

de-arboribvs_de-instione-arborvm02Some of you are still learning your way through the World Wide of Intranets, so I’d like to remind you that most folks follow their favorite blogs in a reader, e.g. Google Reader, or Bloglines. A much more efficient way to read Blogs every day whether it be 5, or 20 or 225 blogs.

Many of the blogs I follow I have only been to the actual site one time, the 1st time I was there. I liked what I saw, or was reading, signed up and that was it, haven’t been back.

Signing up

On the left sidebar where it says get the feed you have several options on how you could get this fantastic blog right at your fingertips, er, keyboard each and every time I post something awesome!

  • The 1st pretty bar with all those cool looking icons sends you to a site where you have several readers to choose from.
  • The 2nd line “Subscribe in a reader” sends you to the Feedburner site to go through the quick and easy sign-up process.
  • My 3rd line asks you about subscribing to this blog via a e-mail feed. Very quick easy and fast to do. I have the e-mail version sent to my Google g-mail account and it reads very well in that format.
  • Lastly,  the red icon shows subscribing to the blogs feed at feedburner, again very fast and simple.

Enough Housecleaning

Apologies to all of you who know the drill but there are always new people still learning their way around, still picking up the nuances on reading blogs in a more efficient way.

Bottom line. A big thank you to those of you who follow along and find a useful tidbit here and there.

Look to next week when I continue the series on Design Principles-the next post in the series will be about . . .  . ta-da! . . .  COLOR! . . . COLOR! . . .  COLOR!

A design principle that actually has been beaten to death.

I plan to offer a lot of links to some very useful sites. Where color is explained better than I could ever explain the subject.
