State of my Garden

So it’s the beginning of April and since the question comes up a lot-about what my garden looks like I thought I’d catch everyone up on what’s been happening in the yard.

The shed that I said I was going to get to, well I haven’t. Someday I am going to start my next hobby bee keeping, but I am not there yet. I’ll get there. This shot from last year looks the same about now. As you can see I strongly believe in the natural evolution look, where things kinda evolve and things just happen.

Shoot, now that I look at that, I got to pick up all those little pots. I don’t get over to that side of the yard much.

Drainage Issue

I just got to that drainage issue that had been bothering me. Don’t you love my nice touch with the stones around the grate. It looks great! Plus we put up the new chain-link fence to keep the Yak out of the part of the garden . . . don’t want a accident if I can help it. Part of great design is preparing for what may happen down the road.

Back Patio

Yes, I know I promised I’d get to that back patio, but the truth of the matter is, I’m just lazy as hell and the patio is going to have to stay this way.

It’s got a couple of benches and some naturalized planting . . . whatever.

Hey! A cobbler’s kids have no shoes right? right? Okay then, the patio stays this way for another year.

The Ponds:

Well if I am too lazy to fix the patio I’ll get to work on the ponds . . . both of them. Why two? Well I’m a guy that’s professionally built and charged money for close to 300 ponds so I better get mine into tip-top shape.

I thought it was cute that the neighbor girl came over and admired our little pond close to the front door for company to see and admire.

It’s really close to ready but not quite. Look how much fun the neighbor girl is having!

The other pond is the ‘tour-de-force’ for the yard. Maybe, just maybe the best thing I have ever built.

Damn, is that looking good or what? My choices for plant material around the pond are spot on. Gotta be some of the best work I have ever done. Yeah, I’ll get around to standing up those pots, and I gotta put new bulbs in my pretty outdoor lights. Can’t wait till everything is in bloom.

I do have a bit of bad news. I had a load of nice bricks coming over for the new garden walls but there was a slight accident down at the bottom of the driveway. . . . . I got to fix that damn bridge soon.

Boy, what a shame, and they said that i would have to fish all the bricks out of the lake. Whew, at least their still mine.

That’s All

Well that’s a look at a 30+ years in the garden professionals  . . . look in their garden. I hope you enjoyed it, and please . . .  feel free to call me if you need design, consulting, coaching, work, whatever  . . .  as you can see-I know my stuff.
