Just received a message from Cornell
A new site that Cornell has put together with the National Resource Defense Council(NRDC) all about birds(imagine that!).
We are excited to announce that just in time for Valentine’s Day AND the Great Backyard Bird Count, The Natural Resources Defense Council has partnered with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology to bring a new site to the bird community. WeLoveBirds.org provides a space for bird enthusiasts to meet each other, interact, and share.
We are especially excited about the Community Blog and the Bird Sightings sections wherein members can share stories, and also seek the help of the community with bird identifications. We hope you will become a member of WeLoveBirds.org, and invite your friends and followers to join as well.
So I went over and looked around and it looked like a great source for info, that’s accurate and put together very well.
Blogs, birding skills, library, images, notes, etc. There is a lot of information here and something interesting I am guessing may happen . . . there is a lot of space and room for interaction.
It’s this interaction and ability to create a “social network” for lovers of our fine feathered friends that will drive the popularity of this network.
My guess is that this site will be wildly successful.
Speaking of which
Snow, lots of snow, and our little friends need food and water. Julie and I are keeping the feeders full.
Sunflower seed, safflower seed, and corn seems to be happily devoured by those over-wintering with us.
I have spread a couple cups of seed daily on the back patio, which has now become a popular spot to gather and peck away. I need to keep reminding myself to get some water out there.
Which reminds me . . .
